The Problem

The problem is to get students interested in science. It is a regional science fair. We live in an area of small towns. The local Green Group asked us to do a science fair including 5 schools, homeschoolers and adults. We did and we had great success. We plan to do this project again next year.

Plan of Action

We looked online for ideas, made judges sheets, registration forms, did a news article, sent forms to the schools, made spreadsheets, got the word out to home-schoolers, made programs, The Green Group went to the schools and did assemblies on how to enter a science project (we helped with the one at our school), asked science teachers to be judges, did form to use our school gym, The Green Group worked with us and they got most of the prizes this year, we paid $200 for prizes, and we had some businesses help us the the cost of printing and etc., setup the gym and clean-up after, made and sent thank you cards to all who helped make this event such a success.
