The Problem

Throughout SE Minnesota, there are many horses that are being abandoned due to the harsh economy or multiple other reasons. RIDE was formed to help these horses get better and then later get adopted into a new, loving family.

Plan of Action

The first thing that we want to do for RIDE is to get most or all the members of Animal Welfare Club to become volunteers at RIDE. This would include helping feed, clean, or ride the horses. The next thing that we are trying to accomplish is to promote the group by getting the word out about it through newspaper and flyers. Also, trying to raise funds is largely needed because RIDE is all donor funded. As many people may know, it costs a lot of money to take care of horses.

Project Updates

Our club has met a few times and our next project is to put together binders for RIDE with mini biographies about each adoptable horse. These binders then will be available at pet stores and other stores for people to look at. Also, we will be making a tri-fold board with information about RIDE on it. This will be used for when our club goes to a pet store with a table so customers can be informed about what RIDE is.
