The Problem

People in wheelchairs often have hard times getting at objects. Due to the fact that most of our world is designed for a person that can stand it can be very frustrating to be an independent person, but you can't go food shopping by yourself or safely reach for something on a table.

Plan of Action

I have been designing a robotic arm that a person in a wheelchair will be able to operate by themselves. It will be able to extend almost four feet long allowing the user to reach objects that they normally couldn't.
