The Problem

I want to be able to donate to disaster relief efforts being made in the communities affected. I recognize that national agencies, while being well intended, often fall short of the type of support needed within a community affected by a disaster. The money that I have raised and donated has gone to local charities or causes that I am personally involved with.

Plan of Action

I want to establish my organization as a recognized nonprofit with tax-exempt status. With this status, I can apply for and receive grants from foundations and federal agencies. In the mean time, I have recently relocated and am in the process of networking with music venues and bands that are amenable to a good cause. The money that I have donated has gone to scholarship funds, disaster relief efforts, pressing medical bills, and to alcohol awareness projects. It's hard to say how many people have been direct beneficiaries of my efforts, but I like to think that everyone at least enjoys the shows I put on!
