The Problem

Rosie's Rescue has four missions. These are: - To find homes for animals affected by the economy, and animals that have ended up at the Ventura County Animal Shelter. - To educate the public about animal welfare issues, such as puppy mills, and spaying/neutering your animal - To create a network of connections for other rescues - To help our student interns (Who are volunteers) to gain confidence, public speaking skills, be able to help out animals, and to pass on their empathy for animals onto the next generation.

Plan of Action

We have had many challenges as far as starting up the rescue, the predominant of which was money problems, as we do not have as much money as we should have. We have had to abide by the various laws for non-profits, and have had to find the means to find fosters for animals, along with giving them the food and care needed. We have made a huge impact. All around Port Hueneme, people know the name of the rescue's inspirarion, Rosie, and point her out, along with her partner in crime, Taffy. We see dogs that have been adopted out through us, and they come to visit us at adoption events. Rosie's REscue has helped many.
