City schools in Sacramento have suffered severe budget cuts in performing arts programs. It hard to maintain something you are passionate about without the resources. Los Angeles is popular for their well known elite performing arts academies. Rather than traveling hours to Los Angeles, I want the whole world to know that Sacramento, capitol of the State also has potential and many hidden talents. For example, Jabbawockeez, winners of America's Best Dance Crew, two of the dancers are from Sacramento. In Quest Crew, one of the dance member is also from Sacramento. I want to offer and organize dance workshops for the community. I want to bring the community, especially the youth to come together and share a common ground, which is to dance, freestyle and let all emotions go on the dance floor. It also serves an outlet for at risk youth. I want to plan a Dance Show where we can showcase Sacramento's elites dance teams and to donate a percentage of the proceeds My Sister's House, a safe haven for battered women and children.
