With my platform of Safe Dating: Preventing Teen Dating Violence, I have been able to go into schools and churches and talk about how to have a safe date. I have also created a simple safety plan based on my name; "Be Safe the W.H.I.T. Way" by W - when in doubt don't go, H - Have a code word, I - I have the right to say "NO"; no to sex and no to a date; T - Take responsibility, Take responsiblity for the way you treat others as well as you are treated. I also use the 1 in 3 braclets that I pass out along with my rack card to everyone I speak too. I have also been a featured speaker at our state domestic peace rally, and I have appeared as a guest on our local NBC news station during February, which is dating violence awareness month. I have also been asked to help with a state teen forum on dating violence issues.
