The Problem

Approximately 60 percent of teens are in an abusive dating relationship before high school graduation. About 25 percent of teens tell no one about the abuse. Teen Dating violence is often hidden because teenagers typically are inexperienced or pressured by peers to act violently. This is a growing problem not only in my own community but in the entire country that we live in. We need to stop the cycle of teen dating violence.

Plan of Action

I feel that the issue is not addressed enough to teens and it is my goal to encourage this awareness to as many students as possible and explain that there are two things that should never mix: Dating and Violence. I will continue to speak to schools and clubs about the issue and encourage our teachers, leaders, and parents to discuss the awareness more with their children.
