25why it's important:
In order to maximize the amount of students involved on campus, our high school organization will be hosting activities for each of the three R's, reuse; reduce; recycle.
the plan of action:
Reuse: Members donated old t-shirts, which got popular phrase (e.g. love, live, peace, inspire, earth) on them, and were then sown into bracelets. These will be sold as a fundraiser ($2).
Reduce: Styrofoam plates will be replaced with recycled paper plates. We will also be advertising what the school district and cafeteria has done to reduce waste in our school.
Recycle: Large recycling drive for students to bring in items (phonebooks, e-waste, ink cartridges, plastic bags, ect.) that aren't already collected curbside in town. Members will be standing at the entrances around the school at the beginning of the day for convenience. In order to inspire students, the incentive for participating is prizes for each student in the science class that wins.
