Schoolyard Trees Initiative

the problem:

The purpose of this project is to raise awareness among students about the need to plant native trees to offset the effects of global warming, extensive residential and commercial development, and the general decline of mature trees from pests and diseases, both natural and invasive.

My goal is to approach all of the local public schools within my city and find ten that would be willing to make a difference and plant a tree. This would be a simple stepping stone to not only make students aware of the need to plant more trees, but also to the community in general.
