Second Hand Smoke

I am in the process of writing a short novel about my experiences as the sister of a prescription drug addict. I know that when I first found out about my brother's problem I was shocked, and dealt with hundreds of different emotions and questions about what was going on in my life. At that time I read a lot of literature on the subject, but all gave me statistics and help with treating an addict, I wanted insight on how to heal myself. If I would have been able to read the words of someone who experienced everything I had, I would have been helped exponentially. After discussing it with my brother, who is now in rehab, we both decided that if our story can help at least one other person in the world dealing with this issue, we would have been able to take something tragic, and use it purposefully.
