Homosexuality
the problem:
In local Jacksonville, many gays and lesbians are discriminated for their sexuality based on who they are attracted to. Because a large part of Jacksonville is Catholic/Christian, many believe that it is against God to be a homosexual. I am a lesbian and yet still Catholic. I believe that God made everyone different, homosexual or not. We are all God's children.

50why it's important:
My project is to show Jacksonville that just because a person is attracted to someone of the same sex doesn't mean they should be treated any different than any other person.
the plan of action:
The steps we will take will consist of:
1. A meeting for all interested Jacksonville homosexuals.
2. A "build-it" day. (will consist of making signs to hold up along the side of the road in which 4 churches are located.)
3. "The Walk". We will all stand with a poster in hand along the sidewalk of the intersection of the 4 churches.
how you can get involved:
Any one can help! By attending meetings or just trying to learn about homosexuals in general. We are a minority, but we do in fact exist.

this seems to be a toudhy subject i dont understand why
how so?
i'm really glad you're doing this! so many people are bigots and should learn to be more open-minded and more accepting. as a matter of fact, homosexuality is a biological cause than a person's choice. i mean, who would choose to be homosexual?--to be discriminated, ostracized, and isolated. congrats to you!!
Thanks. =) What most people don't understand is how hard it is just to be a homosexual in today's society let alone be in a Catholic school and family.
I completely understand what you mean as I am both bisexual and a catholic. why people hate us so much makes absoloutley no sense. but it is all ok when u have great friends that will always stay by your side. thanks for doing this and i will be doing this for my city also...in Jersey. :)
