The Problem
This year the Students of TMCC High School will be giving back by helping a “home” that is desperately in need of some seasonal cheer. Safe Embrace is a full service domestic violence shelter and prevention program; they operate an emergency shelter for abused women to flee with their children to a safe place in a secret location. This shelter provides, along with housing, meals, transportation, counseling, recreational activities, and educational groups.
Plan of Action
At our next assembly, each student will be given a grocery bag stapled with a flyer that asks them to "Please fill this bag with what you can spare or buy on the list below and bring it up to the HS offices in RDMT 314 to help this amazing cause. Take as many bags and flyers as you want to give to your family members or friends to collect as much food and goods as you can, just make sure all of the donations make it up to the high school offices before winter break begins." Then Do Something club members will wrap all of the gifts and drop off at the shelter.
