The Problem

Sho Out is an event that takes place during suicide awareness week in September, and is in place to bring awareness to the community about the harmful repercussions of cutting, abuse, bullying, and suicide. Last year we reached over 300 people in our community with our message of Hope.

Plan of Action

Talk to prominent businesses in the community and ask for their help and support, seek out local community service agencies such as, The Salvation Army, the hospital, the Compassionate Care Pregnancy center, the Crisis Center of the Plains, the local workforce solutions, the Army, Navy, Marines, and Reserves. Go to schools, clubs and hang-outs with information on the talent show. At last year's event we awarded 4 special talents and 3 works of art to the youth who had conquered the fear of silence. The most important plan of action is to get the word out. The majority of time spent on this event is foot time, going door to door talking to community members and inviting them personally.
