Shoebox Club

Check out our videos!

the problem:

What the shoebox club does is take small donations that you can put in a shoebox. The children who get the shoeboxes hardly have anything. Most of them are too poor to afford these items, or don’t even have parents to buy them stuff like that. Some of these children might have lost their parents to disease or fighting, they are called street children and for survival they beg strangers for foods and coins. Some of the children have been in earthquakes and hurricanes and their town can’t find new food or homes.

why it's important:

It is important to me because most of these kids do not have any toys and do not know Jesus. The have probably not ever smiled before and never had a gift or ever felt like someone loved them. I want to give those things to them.

the plan of action:

I am going to get childern together to pack the shoeboxes and send them to Operation Christmas Child. First, I am collecting items to put in the shoeboxes all year long. I have talked to alot of businesses and my church and alot of donations have already been sent in.

how you can get involved:

Items we need to fill these shoeboxes:
toys, chalk, crayons, balls, coloring books, markers, small puzzles, picture books, Frisbees, hollow plastic play eggs, small play instruments, little stuffed animals or dolls, hard candy, jump ropes, notebooks, pencils, band-aids, gentle bar soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, hats, combs, hair accessories, empty shoeboxes, wrapping paper, rubber bands, small zip-lock sandwich bags, money donations (for shipping). You can find where to send items at www.fccfa.com. Send them attn: Shoebox Club

I really love the idea of donating items that can fit in a shoebox. Its such a simple idea but can really help people help out in meaningful, creative ways. Keep up the great work and check out the grants page (dosomething.org/grants)

Question on the statement below, where is it going to be?

I think you are very inspiring! It is great to see such a young person who is already so generous with her life and her time. If everyone would do just what you are doing and would have your giving spirit, the world would be a beautiful place. Thank you and all your helpers in your hardworking group for being so thoughtful toward the rest of the children in the world.

Is this current? I would like ot engage my toddlers in this as a summer project but don't see any recent activity (since March). Where can we send/drop the boxes?

The website was created in March and last updated on May 21st. The updates come later on the website page. To know where to drop off boxes in your area, you can go to the Operation Christmas Child website, www.samaritanspurse.org and find out where a drop off location is near you. If you would like to give donations, you can mail them to the Faith Community Church address located on my website. I hope this helps.
