Sing For A Cure
the problem:
I'm helping anyone and everyone who has dealt with the disease that we all know as cancer. My dad recently passed away from it and I realized how difficult it really was to live through it. By raising money to find a cure for cancer, it'll help out so many people's lives.
Over 1.2 MILLION people were diagnosed with cancer in 2002 alone. And more are affected by it daily.

5why it's important:
It's important, again because my dad passed away from it. But also because pretty much anyone you go up to and ask, knows of at least one person who has/had cancer. So it effects and impacts everyone.
the plan of action:
To have a benefit concert - Sing For A Cure - and raise as much money as possible to get that research done, and a cure found. We're going to hold a good sized concert, sell livestrong style bracelets (red with Together We Will Fight stamped in them) and anything else we can think of to help us raise as much money as possible.

All ideas are listened to and thought out. The more help the better.

Do you have a date for your concert? When is it and where?
It's going to be in Portland, OR.
It looks like it's going to be in July of this year.
No venue has been selected so I'm not sure yet.
Cool. if you could get someone to do it on the the same day somewhere on teh east coast, you could make it a "national" thing!
You should totally post the date here when you know it.
i think this is a cool idea.
I could try that. But it's sort of hard getting it organized here. Unless I get someone else to organize everything. Which most people aren't willing to do.
Awesome project! Did you know DoSomething.org and DKMS are launching a national bone marrow donor registration drive this fall?
We're having a conference call to get partners together to share ideas for making the campaign a success. It's next Tuesday at 4p. We'd love to have you guys on the phone!
