The Problem

In refugee camps in Darfur, women have to leave the camps to get fire wood to cook. While they are out of protection, they are often raped, abused, killed, and put in the sex trade. Men in the refugee camps often blame rape victims for being raped. If women have solar cookers, they don't need to leave the camps, so they stay in protection. According to the United Nations Commissioner for Refugees, there are 252,000 Darfur refugees in Chad. An estimated 80% are women and children. Solar cookers can help keep the women safe.

Plan of Action

I will be sending out letters to my family friends and my subdivision. Hopefully, an article will be published about what my clubs doings after school starts. We will be raising money at lunch during schools.
