Soles 4 Souls

I contacted Soles4Souls to learn how to develop a shoe drive. I then contacted local businesses to set up donation collection sites throughout my community and the surrounding area. Collection sites included my school, several churches, a public library, an insurance office, a hair salon, and a manufacturing facility. I also developed a press release that was printed in the local newspaper and sent copies to churches in the area to help spread the word. Shoes were accepted from March 16 through April 15, 2010. Monetary donations were also solicited from churches and shoe donors to help cover the cost of shipping. I periodicaly visited the collection sites to pick up shoes throughout the campaign. I then paired the shoes together with rubber bands, packed them in shipping containers, and shipped the boxes via UPS, to the collection site in Alabama. I have been able to collect and ship over 300 pairs of shoes that will be distributed by Soles4Souls around the United States and the globe.
