When I started working with the food pantry it had already been going on for some years. It was small and helped about 40 - 50 people a week. After three years of being with program I have helped it grow. We now offer hair cuts, and clothes to the homeless and needy people in the area. We are different than other food pantries in that we also provide transportation. At first it started with a mini van but then grew as we invested in a bus to transport more people. We try to reach out and help as many people as we can. Not only do we offer material needs such as blankets and groceries, we also provide them with some basic emotional needs such as friendship and conversation. I have personally gotten to know many families and shared moments with them such as a new baby and even a child's baptism. Above all I think that the greatest thing we offer is the opportunity to a new life. We try to help them obtain jobs and even places to live. We know have about 100-130 regulars that come in every week.
