Happy New Year! We know this is a little late but we've had a rough start to the year. Unfortunately, in January 2010, Kathryn's mom could no longer fight the battle of cancer, and passed away. This was a vern hard time for us and for many relatives, friends, and community members. Though Mrs. Glynn passed away, she still remains with us in our hearts and is inspiring us everyday. We are committed to continuing her inspiring legacy through Spread The Love Charity in her honor.
As for the new year, STL is ready to take on bigger things! We're starting off our year with another Bracelet Day, where students in our school come after school to help us make beaded bracelets to sell. They receive an hour of community service for helping, and we will be selling the bracelets at a brunch to support breast cancer at our school.
We will be applying for the 2010 Do Something Awards and the 2010 L.E.I Model Citizen Contest... wish us luck!
We will also be selling t-shirts in May at our school and we will be hosting a "Spread The Love Day" where everyone can wear their t-shirts to school to support STL. Not sure of details yet but we will update as we figure it out!
Its almost spring time and that means were getting ready to start tie dying outside again! We are currently looking into events for the summer!

Spread The Love has a new member on the team! Our new PUBLIC RELATIONS GIRL, Sarah McLoughlin! Sarah has many important duties to carry out, like promoting our charity and finding different contests we can enter! She is also in charge of searching for events around our community that we can attend. We are getting ready for our first event, which will be on May 30th for 4 hours at a carnival at a local baseball field in our town. We are very excited to see the outcome! Most of our tie dying is done and we are looking into making more in the near future.
Spread The Love is getting ready for spring and summer festivals! We have created new tie dye, and have made all new products! All money raised in 2008 has been donated to the American Cancer Society and to Long Island OCEANS for Ovarian Cancer. We had a fabulous income in 2008 (a little over $2,000!) and we are excited to see 2009's results! We are also hosting birthday parties, and we are looking into more events for this year! Unfortunately, out main website is down, but please check out our temporary webiste, www.stlcharity.shutterfly.com! Spread The Love has also applied for the 2009 DO SOMETHING AWARDS! Wish us and all of the other do something award applicants luck and keep spreading love! :)
