Spreading Love to over 100 Orphans in Ivanovo, Russia
the problem:
A group of about 120 orphans in an orphanage in Ivanovo, Russia live with little hope for their future, not enough love in their lives, and with many physical, educational and emotional needs that are left unmet. Studies show that about 40% of orphan boys will one day be in prison, about 40% of orphan girls will one day be in prostitution, and about 10% will one day take their own lives. These statistics can be changed and must be changed, one orphan at a time.

20why it's important:
This is important to me because I have met these orphans and have become their friends. I have lived among them in Russia on three separate occasions for about a week each time. I have grown to love them, and they have given me as much as I have given them. I do not want them to become one of the statistics given above.
the plan of action:
I have traveled to Ivanovo, Russia three times during my high school years for about a week each time, living in the orphanage with these orphans, loving on them, befriending them, providing for some of their needs, and bringing them a fresh supply of hope for their future. I have also become involved in connecting these orphans with tech schools and a ministry center so they can gain life skills for their future life beyond the orphanage.
how you can get involved:
Others can help by connecting with other orphanages in Russia that are filled with young Russian orphans who are every bit as needy and worthy of love as the ones I have grown to love.
