The Problem

Rural Tulare County(CA) does not offer recycling from home. The students and I decided to start a Recycle Club at Springville Elementary School to solve this problem in our community.

Plan of Action

We have an active membership of 46 students in the Recycling Club.(total school population is 331) They gather recyclables each day. It is our plan to earn enough through recycling and grants to have a wheeled recycling cart manufactured that can be taken to the lunch area each day. The cart will have containers/sections for plastics, dry paper, aluminum and compostables.
