The Problem

Traditionally, those who are most likely to face problems of body dissatisfaction and eating disorders are young women around college-age. However, I think that the message is simple: "Start a revolution. Stop Hating Your Body." Whatever it is! I feel that everyone: male and female, young and old, fat and thin has SOMETHING about their body that they feel is inadequate or that they wish they could change; honestly, it's no wonder people keep trying to "improve" or modify themselves with all the media devoted to portraying beautiful corpse-thin women and air-brushed celebrities that no-one looks like.

Plan of Action

I funded the project entirely on my own. This required buying packs of white tank tops and t-shirts, getting re-usable stencils professionally made, and printing out the tags to put on the shirts. I then, with some help of my friends and boyfriend (but largely on my own) made the shirts and respond to orders I receive through the mail and the internet. I complete the orders and ship them out or meet with the people if they live locally. I really feel that people have responded quite positively to the program. I often receive thank you letters in the mail and requests for shirts by people who have seen others wearing them. People also often post pictures of themselves in the shirts online and post messages on the discussion boards on the www.facebook.com page. Also, once I was in New York wearing one of the shirts and a girl came up to me in tears and hugged me for spreading such a nice message, it made me feel really good.
