The Problem

In Lanana, Kenya hundreds of thousands are left dying without the necessary means to survive. These individuals have an increasingly high incidence rate of HIV, malaria, Typhoid, and other deadly diseases. Sewage runs openly throughout the contaminated water supply that these individuals use for bathing, drinking, cooking, and defecation.

Plan of Action

fter living here for 3 months I decided to open my own non-profit 100% free medical clinic. Initially we held a two day event where we dewormed 330 individuals for life, tested 50 men, women, and children for HIV, and treated over 500 others for illnesses that would have very easily resulted in their deaths. To this day my clinic is open 7 days a week offering free medical services to anyone in the community. Staffed by one licensed medical doctor and pharmacy technician the clinic is running strong. Hundreds seek refuge and medical care at the clinic, and we now offer free child delivery services. Education is also an important factor in Strawberry Fields Clinic. We offer lectures on sanitation, nutrition, and HIV/AIDS. My efforts are to continue providing free medical care to the poverty stricken individuals of Kenya.
