10/3/07-The project went really well, and we were able to put on the whole program with the help of the Smart Driving grant. We had a car crash, with real officers and real ambulances come to the scene. At the beginning of the school day, before people really understood what was going, on our teachers talked to us about how dangerous drunk driving is and gave us some statistics. During lunch was when they staged the car crash, with the paramedics and the students being pulled out of the cars. then afterwards our principle spoke if how his best friend died in a alcohol related car crash when he was in high school, and how he didn’t want to see that tragedy happen to anyone else.
