The Problem

In Russia, childhood is overlooked. There are no playgrounds, boys and girls clubs, or other recreational opportunities that children in the United States are accustomed to. Students Helping Children Across Borders (SHCAB) aims to bring these valuable opportunities to the children of rural Russia through initiatives that promote both recreational and educational development. Focusing on schools and orphanages, SHCAB intends on building playgrounds and other athletic resources in rural Russia.

Plan of Action

In only a few short months, SHCAB has already taken great strides towards achieving our goals. Our Articles of Incorporation have been filed and we are officially non-profit organization. We are currently waiting to receive our tax id number for 501c (3), tax exempt status. Once we finally get this information, we intend to begin our fundraising campaign so that we can (hopefully!) begin our first project in Russia in the Summer of 2013.
