The Problem

We are hoping to see, by the end of the year, solar panels on the Westlake High School roof. This will reduce our school's carbon footprint, save money for the district, and open up new environmental education opportunities. Also, the success of a small installation at Westlake can hopefully lead to larger systems at other schools in the community. The ultimate goal is to see a renewed movement across the country for students to campaign for alternative energy directly at their schools.

Plan of Action

We have already spoken to the school leadership, and arranged meetings with the district, city and local solar company. SSS also maintains a website and encourages other schools to join the movement.
