The Problem

The ultimate goal of STLF, as I understand it, is to engage youth in community service, in projects of stewardship and sustainability, with the hope that such efforts will spark positive change not only globally, but on a personal level. PIFs have been incredibly fulfilling and life changing for me because they frame big problems like poverty, racism and abuse as both community dilemmas that require social collaboration, but also as issues which, at their root, require individual strides. Building confidence, acceptance and tolerance among my peers--these are goals that will prove to have the greatest impact on how humanity combats the problems of tomorrow.

Plan of Action

To continue to promote this STLF, expand its impact and the values I have taken from my involvement. If I have learned one thing from my PIFs, it is that no task is insurmountable when addressed with community initiative. I intend to promote my sense of communal responsibility, of teamwork and problem solving as I enter college next year. I plan to found another STLF chapter the moment I set foot on campus.
