The Problem

Haiti had no medical supplies shortly after the earthquake, so we decided to gather medical supplies and send them to Haiti. We told our school to bring whatever they could to help, and we ended up with about 25,000 pounds of supplies. The supplies were needed badly and were gone in about two hours. My histroy teacher, Eric Johnson, flew in a plane with the supplies to see where they went and how badly they were needed.

Plan of Action

We gathered 25,000 pounds of supplies by telling the community and my school about the medical supply drive. My history teacher wanted to fly over there with the supplies and help distribute them. Eric Johnson, my history teacher, heard on the radio about Agape Flights, an independent Christian Ministry in Venice that had been serving the people of Haiti for 30 years. Not only would they take the supplies to Haiti, but they also allowed Johnson, a former Marine who had worked in disaster relief efforts, to ride along in a World War II era cargo plane.
