Support Our Troops

the problem:

One of my good friends recently left to go to Iraq and he told me how bad the living conditions were there and how they really dont get much. He also told me that everyones really upset about being away from home. I thought about this and wanted to help them. I decided to send care-packages over to the soldiers. In these packages there were things like coffee, snacks, socks, deoderant, etc. I recieved a lot of feedback from these soldiers and they told me every time they reacieve a pakcage it feels like christmas. They dont get a lot of mail over there and sometimes they do feel forgotten. I wanted to get everyone involved so i started at my school. I organized a support our troops week and it gave everyone a chance to bring an item in. This worked out great, so i wanted to do more. I made donation buckets and haned them out at local businesses. I also handed out bags to the community and they could put an item in the bag and i would go and pick it up. I am also a sponser to two soldiers who just got to Iraq and i will be sending them mail till they come home next october. I am continuing to do this project and hopefully it will go global.
