I am part of the Swadhyay Parivar (Family), a religious family created by the revered Reverend Pandurang Shastri Athavale. Through this family, he was able to purify the corrupt villages in India and eradicate the common vices of the modern age. One of the mediums through which he chose to do this was street plays. Every year, Swadhyay groups all over the world get together and learn and practice a play directed towards enlightening others on several themes. Of course every community is not the same; so, the plays are altered to apply to the specific community of interest. For two weeks, we go around and perform these street plays. To us, it is a mere 20 minutes in which we do a play we have already done several times. But to our audience, it is truly something enlightening, something they don't normally see every day. The community we are trying to help comprises the good and the bad alike. It is a collective mission to make the world as pure as can be.
