The Problem

S.W.I.M is located in Greensboro, N.C. at North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University and is in its second year of productivity! S.W.I.M and its members intend on serving our community with the one thing that connects the world, MUSIC. In the process we are trying to(S.I.N.G), SCHOOL,INVOLVE,NEGOTIATE and GO. School by informing members and the community about the music industry inside and out and Involve the community through events and musical artists promotions. Negotiate between the high crime rate in our city by finding alternate activities to dedicate time and effort to and Go spread our passions and efforts across the community.

Plan of Action

Before anything could get done N.C. A&T S.U's administration had to approve but once they did the rest was history. Since our campus already had a radio station, 90.1, we used them as one of our committees and created a television and events committee as well. Local radio and television representatives have spoken on the indrusrty's behalf and we even have a representative from SONY records! We've invited music artists such as Lupe Fiasco, Yung Berg, business mogul Fonzworth Bently and recently had a jazz cafe events where spoken word was said and students heard a live band perform. We have a little over $350 in the bank and would like to sponsor more events since the community has requested we have a jazz cafe' expose MONTHLY :)! We have been doing so well that the local news came to our campus in search for the new buzz of the community! S.W.I.M is simply aiming to help those interested or even entertained by music and express themselves in a positive manner.
