The Problem
We want to help Do Something's Tackle Hunger campaign while providing food for the local Hunger Outreach center, especially now that the holidays are coming around. Food's important to basic survival, and we'd like to make someone's holiday season at least a little better by providing more food.
Plan of Action
We decorated each box, plus we combined with Student Government and ran Tackle Hunger and Toys for Tots together so that we could kill two birds with one stone while allowing the students in the school the freedom to have a wider choice of things that they could donate. We placed the boxes at different areas of the school so that they were easily accessible to everyone, and the homeroom class that brought in the most food/toys would receive a bagel breakfast served by the Do Something club and Student Government. Also, the place that we dropped off the food was called CHOW, Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse. It was stationed at a Church less than a quarter of a mile from our school, but was a collaboration by all of the places of worship nearby. Any food collected by any Churches, temples, etc all went to one location so that people in need knew where to go.
