A friend and I started our company called Tangible Designs in late April of 2007. Through it we provide the community with custom works of original artwork and t-shirt printing services. When we turn a profit we plan to keep only enough money to cover the operating costs, the rest will be donated to the charity 'Kids Caring for Kids', an organization focused on AID/HIV relief and prevention. This company has helped me learn about the nature of business and how to manage funds. Since I plan on attending college next year to receive my under-graduate in Business Management, this was a very good stepping stone on my journey through the business world. It helped me learn about managing my time, marketing my products, managing my finances, and staying with the current trends to appeal to our targeted demographic. In creating this company, we first started up a myspace (myspace.com/tangibledesigns). After that we decided it would be a good idea to offer our shirts online, so we started a Big Cartel accound (tangibledesigns.bigcartel.com). Then we went and made a web-site to look more professional (tangible-designs.com). Throughout all this we have stayed true to our goal and plan to continue this venture through college. With this scholarship, I will have a better opportunity of pursuing the knowledge I need to grow this business from what it is now, and help be-rid the world of HIV/AIDS forever.
