The Problem

Cancer is the BIG PROBLEM. We formed a team of 12 high school lacrosse players and walked 60 miles in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk. We raised $31,000 to do our part in raising funds for treatment, research and awareness. No one expected a group of teenage boys to get involved like this but we did! The 3-Day was life changing and we'll never forget it. We hope we have inspired others like us to get involved.

Plan of Action

We completed our goal by raising $31,000. We accomplished this by fundraising as a team as well as individually. We organized and promoted a show called "Jonna's Body, please hold" "A Cancerous Comedy" . Actress Jonna Tamases is a 3-time cancer survivor who has turned her experience into a funny, uplifting performance. We also sold "Dip 'N Dots" ice cream (plenty of it) at our high school football games. And we held a HUGE Halloween Party/Fundraising Event - a few of our walkers are musicians and also played in the band. It was a great success!!
