The Problem

The problem that we are trying to solve is that adults in the community don't believe that kids can make a difference. There is a thought that kids don't have the power to change the world, and we are going to change that. We want to prove that a group of teenagers can plan community service projects that make a big impact on the community. We are going to show that we can make a huge difference because of our love for service.

Plan of Action

Our plan of action is to take a group of 20 teenagers on a five day Serve-A-Thon up the coast of California doing a variety of service projects throughout the week such as beach cleanups, working with veterans, helping the homeless, etc. We are going to end up in Sacramento to lobby for an increased amount of time dedicated to service learning in schools. Service learning is really important in the schools because it fosters a love for service which is something that should be shared with everyone. Our goal is prove how much of a difference a group of teenagers can make because we have seen how much we are capable of.
