The Stanford Persuasive Technology Lab believes that change in the world begins with a shift in our attitudes and behaviors. Through persuasive technologies- from websites to mobile phones- we can design applications to enhance and promote world harmony. In 2005 we completed an initial investigation into technologies designed to promote peace. We are opening this project anew, starting with a Stanford class on “Peace Technology,” scheduled for early 2008. The Technology for Peace team is in the early stages of a multi-year project with the vision of offering a new generation the idea that more peaceful environments (at all levels: intra-personal, inter-personal, group, inter-state, global) can be achieved with technology.
