Teen Dating Abuse Awareness Campaign

the problem:
The Dating Abuse statistics nation wide are rising. There are more and more cases of teen dating abuse. In the community i live in there are twice the normall number of cases of abuse than in the rest of the state. There is an organization called the liberty house , that helps victims of abuse recover. Or group is partnering with them to raise funds for their recovery program. And help raise awareness to stop abuse of all kind.

With the numbers in our community there are, their is enough cases of abuses reported to fill 32 school buses. To think about the numbers that way, it means that i can look around at the people in my classes and have a possibility of seeing four or five kids that have been abused in some way. It's saddening to know that this problem is so out of control.
the plan of action:
My group is going to start a couple of events through out the school year to raise funds and awareness for the Liberty House Child abuse assessment center. We have a benefit concert planned this next month, and a huge school wide lecture. Both events will have large numbers in attendance, and make a big impact in our community .

It is horrible, and there just isn't enough advocation for it. And many victims suffer from some intense self destruction going into the relationships, its important to help raise the self esteem of all those you meet because you don't know what kind of impact it will have on their lives.
