This, the first, chapter of TSSP, would be in Baton Rouge, LA. Service projects would range from Random Acts of Kindness (RAK, see below) to fundraising to awareness campaigns to hands-on service. Causes would be decided by members on a weekly basis.

TSSP (BR) would fundraise for various needs throughout the community (perhaps partnering with various preestablished charities) as well as take part in hands-on service and Random Acts of Kindness (RAK). RAKs are when you drive around the city looking for something that needs to be done and then you do it...no questions asked, no strings attached. Service to improve the community and someone's day. We would have formal meetings once a week to brainstorm and discuss potential service opportunities, but, depending on interest, we could meet to serve anywhere from one to seven days a week.

As I look through these service opportunities, I realize that nearly all of them are school related. Well as you well know, school is almost over and summer is swiftly approaching. For those of us who truly have a heart for serving, I would like to propose a Teen Summer Service Project where people from all over the city could come together, united by a heart for service and charity, to make a difference throughout the community.
