why it's important:

My heart goes out to the victims in Haiti. I mean, what would I do if I had nothing? I wanted to help those in need both overseas in locally. I just had to do something!

the plan of action:

My friend Madi found the add for Teens for Jeans. Our school's NJHS (National Junior Honor Society) decided to take on the project. We plastered posters around the school, sent home flyers and made daily announcements. We also decided to throw a donut party for the class that brought in the most jeans. We had 4 classes bring in over 100 pairs! Our school ended up donating 1130 pair!!

how you can get involved:

Local homless shleters ar always accepting donations and volunteers. All you have to do is contact them to see how you can help!
