The Problem

After entering college, i was, for the first time, exposed to just how unhealthy the world can be. I have met people of all shapes and sizes, and whether they be large or small, when I ask them if they think they are healthy, the answer is almost always no. And its not like they do not want to try and live healthier lifestyles. I cannot count the amount of times i have heard "I've tried everything and nothing works!" or "Its just to hard to live a healthy lifestyle." I think that the main problem today with health is that people have the wrong perspective about it.

Plan of Action

As of now, To Have A Heart has had four bike rides, and we have helped set up and run a health, safety and, disaster preparedness fair. Our efforts have inspired people in our area to get up and go exercise and eat well, not because it will make them look better, or it is something that they feel they have to do. Rather, people are getting active because it is fun and their friends are doing it. We are starting to change the way people think about living healthy. Being healthy is more than being physically fit- You have to be happy too. What we are doing is taking something that is normally a "have to do" and turning it into a "want to do."
