The Problem

Too many kids in our area are not able to be themselves and are turning to drugs and alcohol as a way to have fun. We think that kids need a place where they can be themselves and a place where they can be free from the peer pressure of the community. We started in Mason City, IL and the building we used is no longer viable, so we now are in Lincoln, IL giving these kids concerts once a month as well as volunteering events where they get to help out and be a part of their community in a positive way.

Plan of Action

Our plan of action continues as it has for a few years now. We continue to hold concerts once a month, renting a local VFW hall until we can get another building as a donation, and we continue to find things for them to volunteer with, such as recycling and with other not for profit organizations. We get over 100 kids from all over central Illinois at our concerts, some traveling over an hour to get there, and we make sure they have fun, in a nice controlled chaperoned environment. They would love for us to have more concerts, but since we fund this out of our own pocket for the moment we can't really afford to. We have formed a not for profit that is our umbrella under which we run this, but we still cannot find a donated building to continue our shows on more of a regular basis. Our building we have in Mason City is falling down unfortunately and needs more repairs than we are able to afford.
