My name is Brenda and in the next three months I hope to open The Foundation, a center focused on the youth in Hill County. We are basically starting with nothing and depend greatly on the donations of businesses and individuals in our community. Our mission is to provide the children in our county a safe place to learn and have fun. As you may or may not know, there are no recreation facilities in the Lake Whitney area, and there are many low income families as well. We hope to be a place of entertainment as well as growth for many children who we feel would otherwise turn to less productive outlets for boredom. We are greatly in need of monetary funding to get the doors open. There is a vacant building here that has a pool and a mini golf course, although neither of them have been open in at least 7 years. The owner has agreed to rent it to us if we can come up with 1 years worth of funding, which is why i am asking for a grant.
