The Problem

The Oasis Learning Center is positioned to be a benefit on a number of levels. We are in a rural area of East Texas and the probems that we are attacking is that of: lack of education, family brokeness, poverty, self-preservation, and weather disaster preparedness (just to name a few).

Plan of Action

Our plan of action is to ACT! Something we are already doing. By continuing an after-school program we began last year. Recruiting neigborhood children, impoverished students, and willing workers we have already begun a healing process that we feel needed much attention. Over the last 12-18 months we have served faithfully along side of Goodwill Industries, AmeriCorps, & the East Texas Food Bank to be a blessing to well over 75 children. Our after-school program is a mimic version of the 21st Century Community Learning Program which was established by congress and we are sanctioned by our local school district.
