The Ohio University Beautification Day
the problem:
I'm trying to improve the aestheticism of Ohio University and help the landscaping workers out in the midst of massive budget cuts. I also hope to improve the collaboration between OU students by also helping the University.

the plan of action:
I plan on using my Student senate power with the collaboration of my peers and administrators to plan and execute the event. I hope to split the event into four sections, each focusing on the four greens. To contain this, I will work with the two green senators for each green in 1) communicating with their constituents on what they want to see done, 2) have them recruit a certain quote from each green, and 3) booking entertainment and catering for the workers. To raise money for the event, I plan on creating sponsorship packets and encouraging local businesses to support our cause by donating what they can.
how you can get involved:
I plan on collaborating with the Greek Life Senator to involve members of fraternities and sororities to help with North Green (which doesn't have a senator). This will look good on their Greek life and count as community service hours required by each Greek house.
