Urban Electronics is a non-profit organization which advances the knowledge of the game industry.
In this day and age with technology dominating all or most markets, the entertainment industry has swung towards video games. The market targets almost all ages but it is teenagers where the most interest and innovation can come from.
Many teenagers state that they have the best idea for a videogame, yet its never pursued. Urban Electronics captures those ideas and allows them to explore the videogame industry.
On Sunday, October 21, 2007 Urban Electronics Game Developers Association (UEGDA) will present their first conference for students who are interested in learning more about video game design. The conference will be held at Wayne State University’s Community Arts Auditorium, from 2-6pm. The focus of the conference will be on the basic elements of game design, and how to take a game from being an idea to market. Students will be able to stroll through exhibits which contain information about the industry and profession. The cost is nominal: $3 per person; $5 for a team of two; and $2 per person for groups of ten or more. All are welcome! The Midtown Detroit Kumon Math and Reading Center is the major sponsor of this event. The Center is located at 1100 St. Aubin in Detroit’s Lafayette Park area. For tickets and more information please call: John Wolff, (313) 874-5832.
