The Problem

I designed and created five vegetable costumes: carrot, tomato, pea, onion, and corn. I then choreographed a dance to the tune of "We like to party". Four of my friends and I dressed up and went to the Chapel Hill Elementary school during their lunch period on October 19th(National School Lunch Week). We danced several times and talked to the kids about how important it is to eat vegetables and exercise to stay healthy. The elementary students loved our presentation. This is a project we can do yearly.

Why It's Important

I believe it's important for kids to know what food they should and shouldn't eat. This way they will be able to lead a healthy lifestyle.

Project Updates

Update: 3/31/08-My community was very supportive of the project, and is excited to see more. Within the elementary school system I have been given the opportunity to take my educational program to all the elementary schools in my county. In my group of friends I have had many people interested in performing in next year's program, even if it means coming home from college to do so. Despite the support I have already received, i know that in the years to come my support system will grow to a great level.
