Polaris Project is a leading international organization combating human trafficking and modern-day slavery. Based in the United States and Japan, we bring together community members, survivors, and professionals to fight trafficking and slavery in the spirit of a modern-day Underground Railroad. Polaris Project uses a comprehensive strategy: empowering individual survivors of trafficking while also creating long-term social change. Human trafficking occurs when persons are induced by force, fraud, or coercion, to work in the commercial sex industry, labor, or services and when minors under the age of 18 engage in commercial sex acts. Human trafficking is modern-day slavery, and it is a widespread and horrifying human rights abuse. Let's come together to end exploitation and support the survivors of human trafficking!
