The Problem

(Revolution Against Garbage Everywhere) Concert Event Series/Enviro/Social/Whole Life Expo /Peotry Reading/ Album Compilation Project ***to bring people together, raise awareness and compassion about all issues we face in the world today... (garbage in our hearts, and society, as well)...to inspire poets and musicians to write about these issues, to put out an album featuring these songs (and a book featuring the poems) to use universal language to raise awareness and compassion to bring people together...

Plan of Action

We've had two events and given platform to many organizations and musicians already. It is just a beginning but it is already making those who have been involved focus and care about issues they weren't aware of... It is also providing opportunity for musicians that don't play out to come share themselves. Poets to read their works so poems can become songs.

Project Updates

This project started as an event series calling to all organizations with a cause to come set up and get their word out in front of poets, songwriters, and the general public hoping to raise awareness and make opportunity for songwriters to be on a compilation album that aspires to make a difference in the world.

We've had three events- the second one, at Castle Farms, bringing the most organizations together. There was representation of our wildlife, our water, our recycling options, alternative energy sources, world peace issues, and holistic health approaches, to name a few.

We've had some great songs come in for the compilation project. Liz Thorp's song "LIGHT" being the one that got us associated with this grant, for one. Erik Vanhorn's song "No Water for the Children" about the situation in Darfur, and Adolph Cwik's song "Recycle My Heart" to name a couple more.

We plan to have more events in the future. The collecting of song submissions and the production of the album is still in process so our compilation cd is not coming out as quick as we might have hoped.

This project has impacted our community with its power of suggestion that people gain understanding of the cares in the world and "DO SOMETHING" to show you care. It has also created an opportunity for talent in this area that wasn't here before.

We are very grateful for the "Key Change" starter grant that has helped pay for the recording.

We're not done yet! Stay with us!

Peace.
