I am a dental assistant, I graduated a technical College and I have always wanted to give back some how! I recently moved to a very poor town in southern Missouri and the need for dental education and care is over- whelming!!! There is only one free/reduced dental clinic in the area and the waiting list is months long! For people with an infection, there just isnt that kind of time! Everyday, people are placed in a hospital or die from a tooth related infection! Almost 75% of the people in this town have missing or rotten teeth and they need help! I have decided to write letters to the dentists in the nearest larger city and ask for them to aid me in giving one weekend of their time and do extractions and I plan to ask other assistants in this area to go with me to local schools to give hygeine instructions. I have also decided to write to crest and oral-b ect. to ask for donations of tooth brushes and such! I do need help funding supplies such as gauze and stitches and cleaning solution...PLEASE help..these people are suffering!
